Cranendonck Council agrees to construction of access road for freight traffic at Poort43 industrial estate.

The city council of Cranendonck approved a zoning change on Tuesday that is necessary to realize the next step in making Sterksel and Maarheeze more traffic-calmed: the construction of an access road to the A2.

The realization will be a three-stage rocket: as the first stage, the Supplementary Measures were recently realized in Sterksel. The SamenMeeNaarDeA2 project consists of three parts: access road, supplementary measures Sterksel, supplementary measures Maarheeze. The municipalities of Cranendonck and Heeze-Leende have been working hard on this recently. All this required a zoning change. It is partly realized by “upgrading” existing roads, and partly by constructing two new road sections. And finally the construction. This may take a long time, but the second stage of the SamenMeeNaarDeA2 rocket has started! The second staircase is the access road from the Poort43 industrial estate to the A2. It will be located on the existing P.Thijssenlaan, Sterkselseweg, Grote Bleek and d'Aasdonken.
The way is now clear for the next steps towards realizing the access road: going through any appeal procedures, purchasing land, and so on.
The change was submitted to the Cranendonck city council last Tuesday (8 March) and approved (unanimous!).
