"....my pessimism was very well earned in this case."

100% agree. I brought more than a few investors into this investment. Some have stayed with it, and some have jumped ship. I did not try to convince those who decided to leave to do otherwise. Management has been an embarrassment. Period. And as much as I believe the company can succeed under the right new management, and with the right vehicle holding the company, until I see the necessary steps taken, I'm not guaranteeing anything.

"....the main power house players affiliated with pred couldn't do anything to stave off or deflect the attack, or even bring anything to market that would subtly counter the attacks by proving their worth."

Probably your best point so far. I don't claim to be all knowing when it comes to this debacle. Far from it. But my understanding is that the individuals that really have the power to intervene, no longer had the reigns. Giving up those reigns to current management proved to be the company's undoing. PRED has far too many shares available. Management made some horrendous transactions with the wrong people. And my guess is they felt desperate, and tried to find that unicorn to turn things around, and instead, just made more mistakes, burying themselves even deeper.

But as I mentioned before, if in fact current management sees no other way forward, they may have to hand the reigns over to someone more capable, even though I imagine that's the last thing they want to do.

"Purely from a business stand point, one would think, if the catalyst for an attack was a rejected by out offer, I would expect that after destroying the market value after such an attack, that the attackers would be swooping in to buy the pieces they initially wished to purchase at a steep discount vs their original offer. Instead pred is selling assets and divisions to other much smaller entities."

Greencandle, again, I don't have a crystal ball here. But what you see being sold off thus far is not where the real value is in my humble opinion. We have yet to see how the pieces with real value will play out.

If new management is smart, they'll find a way to work WITH a pharmaceutical company or two, rather than against them. Then everyone makes money, and this company could in fact be protected from other pharmaceuticals.

That's what I would do anyway. Sure, there would be less potential for profit, but it would essentially be going back to being bought out, having a smaller share of the pie, but surviving and being substantially profitable. Am I the only one who thinks like this? Take the sure thing, be successful, help others, and make some good money. Seems like simple math to me, especially after what just went down.

It's odd to finally have an intelligent conversation on this board. Very odd.
