There a few hundred photonics start ups vying for venture capital. Biggest issue for all is how to move from prototype to mass production. There are a number of companies offering small scale foundry services ( like IMEC). LWLG is preparing for mass production. LWLG is CMOS compatible, the current , semi conductor (chip) mass manufacturing process. The PDK’s which should be ready soon will get LWLG into mass production.
