JNJ isn't working against omicron, unfortunately. This variant has 50 new mutations, 35 on the infecting element. Pfizer is only 34 percent effective with two shots, but 75 percent with a booster. I haven't seen Moderna's numbers, but they will probably be like Pfizer's.

The vaccines will not prevent all infections. In fact, because of the incredible transmissibility of the omicron variant, they can only slow down its spreading -- especially since there are a lot of unvaxxed out there.
