They can nudge all they want but they don't have the "shit or get off the pot" clause that Body Armor did. For the past decade, many thought Coke would eventually buy them. But they've been pretty catty with one another lately. Coke launched an energy drink in 2020 (it fizzled) when they have historically agreed *not* to cannibalize one another's businesses. When the non-compete went away (via arbitration), Monster became free to sell non-energy drinks outside their Coke channels.

Coke paid $5.6B in cash for the remaining portion of equity in Body Armor.
Probably going to be 7x that amount to complete the deal for Monster. That's a lot of cheddar cheese $KO needs to find to complete that purchase. It'll be interesting.
