yeah there are a lot of optical centers, see the substituents around the rings: they can be above the plane or below the plane. it llooks to me like there are at least 4 isomers maybe more.
which one is active, and how is the fda going to react to this?
will they allow a racemic product and how will they ascribe tox to a racmate.
if there is no tox it does not matter.
most of the fda's concerns about racemates are for tox.
but it also implies that if they do not have the intellectual property to various isomers, there may be one that is better that someone could patent
