Selling when down means there is a 100% chance you lose your money. Wanting to sell before the merger goes through didn't make any sense. Like, why did you buy it in the first place? If you bought it for post-merger upside, that chance for upside still exists unless you sell.
If you believed in it, why not continue to buy when it was down?
