Yes JJ8. After 15+ years with TD they are the most criminal and abuse accounts and actually cause you to lose capital, funds, steal your monies ... Always blame the account holder, NEVER themselves for any wrongdoing...
Last week I sold position in a company for a profit too. Everything was great, additional free $$$ cash showed in my account to which I wrote check against. A day later I log in early to find everything changed, now my account negative requiring additional $5600.00 for maintenance when nothing happened yet in markets or other ! But I sold a position showing in my transactions page adding over $17,000.00 to my account !!! How could there be any maintenance??? I complained and they told me, since I sold that other position, they increased margin to 70% now for others I still held !!?? WTF going on there.
There should be NO correlation in my case, between an online used car stock and a mining company stock's performance to see such thing occur. By them doing this, it effectively absorbed all my profit and free cash available, but now that check no good ????
Hundreds of complaints against TD exist out there online. We even spoke to FINRA few years ago too seeing many bizzare occurances on their system. FINRA says they are the worse, yet pay out of court fines all the time and keep going on doing what they do- especially regarding naked shortselling schemes...
