Yes, we are definitely living in the Twilight Zone these days. But best to keep things in perspective. In his later years, George Carlin talked about how he had largely disengaging from the world, and came to look at things with detached amusement as an impartial spectator. I guess when it comes to humanity, things have always been, and will always be, screwed up and dysfunctional. It was a miracle we didn't destroy ourselves during the Cold War. Now we have computerized everything, AI, genomics, but still the same beast-like humans, the aspect that will never change. So, try to 'make the best of things' is the logical conclusion.
