Come to the Well

The Lord’s gift of forgiveness is free. There is nothing that we can do earn our way into heaven; we must only accept this free gift of salvation made possible by the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. We do not have to “clean up our act” to accept His salvation. After true repentance, and as we develop a personal relationship with the Lord – the Holy Spirit will help to shape/mold our thoughts, words, actions and deeds into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Is it easy to be a Christian – a true disciple of Christ? No, it is not.

It’s easy to accept God’s free gift – but as our relationship with God, the Father, develops – our desires start to align with His will for our life – and those desires go against the social norm of the sinful world. We will no longer have the desire to hang-out with the ungodly peoples of the world, or, to do the ungodly deeds that we once enjoyed. You see, we are becoming a new person in Christ Jesus – and that is the desire of God.

Satan, the evil one of the world, will attempt to discourage you; telling you that you are not good enough, or its too difficult, etc., etc. Do not be deceived by him – as the One who is in you (the Holy Spirit) is greater than the one who is in the world. The Lord promises life eternal to those that persevere until the end. In that eternal life with God, there will be no more pain, suffering, tears, temptations or sin – a true paradise with our Creator, Lord, Savior and Father.

Now, doesn’t that sound better than what we are daily living within, and having to contend with in this world? I believe that it does – and so can you!
