The basic business plan for Hemp Agro, seems to me to be very similar to that of Instadose, just industrial hemp vs marijuana. The company was going to grow their own plants....but would have also given expensive hemp seed to local farmers, to grow plants on their own land, with the exclusive rights to buy back those plants after harvest, at a set price. The price would have been better than the local farmers could have made growing produce...but would have been far cheaper, due to cheaper labor overall, vs growing in Canada.
Which IMO was a pretty good idea, as it would have allowed them to scale up quickly, meeting pretty much any demand for hemp, but without the overhead of paying for their own land, hiring employees, etc.
I think this is a concept Instadose could use, or may already be using, as well in the DRC or other countries....thus making Instadose not only one of the biggest growers of cannabis themselves... but also one of the biggest purchasers of cannabis.
Obviously, Hemp Agro did not ultimately pan out, but it could have, and would have likely been huge had the DEA not gotten involved.....why they got involved in a Canadian company growing hemp in Nicaragua is anyone's guess...but going into business with Danilo likely did not help.
