Let's apply a little common sense to this, shall we? If short volume really represented a short position in a stock, every heavily traded ticker would be seeing a short squeeze on a constant basis, wouldn't they? And since USEI has shown a consistently daily large short volume amount for years, it stands to reason there should have been many short squeezes. Yet, there's never been a single one. On USEI or any other of the thousands that short volume should indicate there should be.

If anyone wanted to understand why short volume is meaningless data with regards to a TRUE short position in a stock, they need to research short interest. That would really be the end of the story.
