I was going to Matthew and when flipping the intro to Matthew ---Malachi was there and the Hi-Lited passages. I am only doing 6-15, but Malachi is a short Book, so I encourage you to take a few minutes and read it from Chap. 1 through 4----maybe just a Chap. each morning and ask God to enlighten you.
As you read the following think on us here in 2021---maybe I am nuts, God only knows, but I could easily see our world in 2021 ----
PLEASE NOTICE VERSE 6------"I AM THE LORD--I DO NOT CHANGE",,,,,My thought here, so many in organized religion want to convince folks that times have changed and we need to change along with times----I think we need to draw near to God so we better understand God. ONLY the Holy Spirit can teach us correctly....Jesus taught to seek--ask--knock
PLEASE NOTICE VERSE 8------TITHES AND OFFERINGS-----Back in the day, tithes and offerings were sort of like our taxes of today. Tithes and offerings went to the Levites and also was the Jewish welfare system---If I am correct, if we take into account all the different offerings made it totalled around 23%-25%---somewhere in there.......Now preachers will totally disagree with me, "BUT" as I said, my opinion , the N.T. speak twice on this....1st the old lady who tossed in all she had and then Zacchaeus in Luke 19.
Do not misunderstand me, we are to "GIVE", when we draw near to God and trust the Holy Spirit and do as directed, then we can not fail
PLEASE NOTICE VERSE 10-----"And try Me now in this"---To the best of my knowledge this is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to try Him.....Sometimes the best witness is from one who gave this a shot.....If I may, I will pass on my experience----Back years ago I had 3 small transportation companies and did transportation consulting for a major national medical company, as the ole saying goes I was in "Tall Cotton"... In 1978 I bought my wife a new Cadallic, bought me a new Chev. pick-up, we bought a 3 bedroom house on the river, just touching on the bigger items-----then the trucking industry started to change, deregulation stepped in and really ripped my businesses apart, so to speak, yet I hung in there and managed to make ends meet, but every time I started to get ahead it was something that would come along to cause a set back, yet I was to stubborn to change, then one day I was getting out of the trailer and slipped and fell to the concrete ground, and broke everything in my right wrist, when I say everything I mean everything, my arm, hand and wrist was like a crankshaft in an automobile. I was out of work for just shy of 2 years, we did not loose everything, but close to it. If it had not been for my lovely bride being able to squeeze a nickel 10 ways from Sunday we would have been totally sunk....One morning I was reading My Scripture and talking with God and told God---"Hey--look, everytime I see a light at the end of the tunnel and think I am coming out of this mess, it just turns out to be another freight-train coming down the track to run me down again----BUT GOD, if you will see me through this mess I will_____________________________-. I MADE A COVENANT WITH GOD______A very short period of time passed and things started to improve---today I do not have the money I once had, but I have more---to this day I honor my covenant with God, partly because I owe Him, Partly because I made a promise and partly because I am afraid to cheat God......I post this so you in your darkest hour can rest assured that God is right there, His hand is our-stretched , all you have to do is reach out and take a hold.-----Psalm 50-15 "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." I believe this with all my heart, I also believe that very last few words is absolutely correct "And you shall glorify Me"- When God answers our prayer and helps we really need to say thanks.....

Malachi 3:6-15

6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
7 Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
“But you said,
‘In what way shall we return?
8 “Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;
12 “And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
The People Complain Harshly
13 “Your words have been harsh against Me,”
Says the Lord,
“Yet you say,
‘What have we spoken against You?’
14 You have said,
‘It is useless to serve God;
What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance,
And that we have walked as mourners
Before the Lord of hosts?
15 So now we call the proud blessed,
For those who do wickedness are raised up;
