Moderna says its booster shot against COVID-19 variants is on the way - April 8 news

The mRNA vaccines are 4- to 7-fold less effective against the P.1 variant, which was first discovered in Brazil,
The B.1.351 variant is more troublesome. Studies have shown that the AstraZeneca vaccine was 86 times less effective against this variant, which was first detected in South Africa.
The mRNA vaccines are 6- to 8-fold less effective against this variant, suggesting a significant waning of protection.

Boosters are coming as there are a couple of billion infections ahead of us, billions of Petri dishes for evolving more variants.

Rite Aid likely to vaccinate 10 million doses by end of year. $40 dose should be high margin as regular vaccinations are considered high margin with a $17 administration fee.

$25 Margin? X 10M = $250 million net for year = $4.50 earnings per share

First we have to get past the earnings call this coming week. Preanounced as bad because California, New York and Pennsylvania were in the harshest lockdowns in the nation. Those states are the heart of Rite Aid. An unmatched historically bad quarter is coming. If RAD sells off on earnings I will be buying as it is a one off quarter never to be matched.

The coming two quarters could be a never matched historically profitable for Rite Aid. Regular business is already springing back on top of the vaccination windfall that is coming.
