SG2, you really got me thinking. I am a bit jealous about your talent and strategy. I know you’re not only perfectly timing the NBEV short positions, but also dominating the short-term breakouts as well. I really cannot believe NBEV is still above $2.20. I did a little rough accounting to see if you really could afford that Porsche. Enjoy.
Short #1: $6.69 Jun 9, 2017 to $2.17 Jan 5, 2018 – percent change 67.6%
Short #2: $3.92 Jun 19, 2018 to $1.32 August 24, 2018 – percent change 66.3%
Short #3: $7.15 Feb 1, 2019 to $3.60 Nov 9, 2018 – percent change 49.6%
Short #4: $3.89 Feb 12, 2021 to $2.63 Apr 8, 2021 – percent change 49.7%
My apologies, but I am assuming a lot here. I guessing you’re a stuntman, so you reinvested your gains throughout these ideal short positions. I’m also kind of guessing that your initial trade was around $25,000.
Short #1: Trade $25,000; Gain $16,900; Gain minus Capital Gains (20%) and fees (.1%) = $13,503
Short #2: Trade $38,503; Gain $25,527; Gain minus Capital Gains (20%) and fees (0.1%) = $20,396
Short #3: Trade $58,900; Gain $29,213; Gain minus Capital Gains (20%) and fees (0.1%) = $23,342
Short #4: Trade $82,242; Gain $40,874; Gains minus Capital Gains (20%) and fees (0.1%) = $32,656
So, if my assumptions and accounting are anywhere close, your incredible timing talent of this turd amounted to a grand total of $114,898.13. Yes, you may be able to afford a 2021 Porsche 911 ($99,200) or 2021 Porsche Boxster ($98,600). But I am thinking you’re a 911 Californian, which maybe needs a closer look.
$99,200 + 7.25% sales tax + $21.00 title + $60.00 Registration + 0.65% vehicle License Fee + $8.00 Smog fee + $26 CHP donation + $17 emissions parking sticker + $80.00 electronic filing fee = $107,214
Congrats!! Over almost three years of impeccable trades, you earned a 2021 Porsche 911 with $7,684.13 left over beer or Noni money. If you really do that kind of magic, you should aim higher. Maybe a Bugatti or McLaren? Nothing against Porsche, you know.
