I was reading that a supersedas bond or 'appeal bond' is usually equal to the amount of the judgement, if not more; more being additional funds to cover the court cost if the appeal loses. This bond is a good faith requirement that, in case of a losing appeal, the defendants will pay the judgement to the plaintiff. There is no way the Bolzans are going to float that much dough imho. I give them a 10% chance of following through on the appeal.
