When all is said and done, I can make—and have made—much more money by doing extensive due diligence and then taking large positions in stocks that “merely” double, triple, or quadruple (e.g. RVNC, ENTA, ABT, MON, MMM) than I could ever make by being lucky and realizing 10,000% gains on small speculative positions.

Moreover, the way I invest, one needs to have only a few successes over a lifetime to do very well.
