Sears - Lampert won a bankruptcy auction after increasing his offer for the business from $4.4 billion to $5.3 billion, including the assumption of some liabilities.

Why jcp op co was sold for $800m to Simon? I am surprised that the number did not even cause any question from judge Jones and us trustee.
