What makes no sense is to delay DL, TLD, for what ultimately boils down to an aesthetic notion that a round number sits more comfortably with us. If the statistical significance is just as good good with one or two patients only at the 4 year and 11 month time then waiting for FULL five years for all the patients is a needless dealy. It just is easier to say "all had five years plus" than it is to say "most had 5 years plus, but one or two only had 4 years and 11 months."
It is a purely aesthetic matter, but truly meaningless as far as the significance of the trial. So I think it would be wrong for LP to wait for the aesthetic and easy number of 5 years which changes nothing of significance in the trial.
