Mitch’s race is tightening up a bit

New polls show tight races for Graham, McConnell

In Kentucky, McConnell leads his Democratic opponent Amy McGrath 49 percent to 44 percent. McConnell won his last reelection bid in 2014 by more than 14 points.

Just checked all the Mitch/McGrath polls and there’s another one from this week where Mitch is only up 3 points

There is a 3rd poll that came out right before these two that shows Mitch up 17 points

That’s a pretty big difference in that 3rd poll

+5, +3 and +17

But if you look at the +5 and +3, those are RV polls — registered voter polls are the gold standard

The +17 is a LV poll

Also the +5 poll is Quinnipiac, rated B+ for accuracy

The +17 is a lower rated poll

The bottom line is that Mitch is still favored to win

However, McGrath is in striking distance, and that’s not something Mitch is used to seeing

Losing is unlikely, but not impossible like it has been in prior elections
