And what would the problem be for an investor looking to a long term return on buying in at a price that fluctuates but eventually returns multiples on their initial investment? They have the option of selling when they reach their personal goal or just holding their position. Pretty simple investment choices.

I would hope that anyone buying stocks would understand the risks involved. It's pretty commonly known.

Entry and exit points into stock purchases can be tricky. The typical investor tries to buy low and sells high to make a return on their investment. Sometimes this takes years.

A more advanced investor can take advantage of "short selling" a stock. This where an investor "borrows" a stock, sells the stock, and then buys the stock back to return it to the lender. Short sellers are betting that the stock they sell will drop in price. If someone shorted the stock with $10 entry and $4.73 exit then they made good money....if they had done it legally. That topic of discussion is better left explained by more experienced posters on the board.
