I view Covid as nature's way as just balancing things out. For especially the last 80 yrs we have either eliminated or brought under control diseases that decimated populations in past times. We were due for a new biological threat.
It has been known from the 1970s the annual migration of birds from Japan-HK thru SE Asia to Australia and back was an incubator for next yr's flu. Undergoing recombination and mutation in the birds.
In more recent years one had Ebola, the Swine flu, and then SARS involving the coronavirus. It was only a matter of time before that virus found the right intermediate host, and then made the jump to humans. Where coronavirus is found in many animal species. That was the real accident.
