Quick answer: Dominate vs. Follow.

Why don't they "just do it?" Because they don't just want to produce for Polartec. They want to produce for the world. Just think what that will do...

-Give them instant credibility.
-Make their stock price soar.
-Make the RS a raging success.
-Confirm NASDAQ made the right decision.
-Make Mr. T, Mr. Rice and many others extremely wealthy (or even wealthier).
-Compel top textile companies to continue calling on them (along with many other companies).

KBLB doesn't have the capabilities to cure Covid-19 in 30 minutes because it's not their business model. But, what they do have, are the capabilities to produce Spider Silk. Something that has not been done in sustainable fashion in the history of mankind. They aim to be the first to do this. A few have succeeded in producing ties, or parkas, etc. But, they haven't reeled that in (pun intended) to formulate anything sustainable. KBLB has worked to Dominate the Market they've entered. In doing so, they will go beyond producing a few ties or a parka. They will produce for the ENTIRE INDUSTRY!

To use your analogy, this will be like producing the cure for all viruses, rather than just Covid-19. Thankfully they're not in that market which would require them to pivot from all they attempted to achieve over the past 10+ years in order to provide for something that required an immediate response.

For a shareholder, getting something out there to show the public will get them that little "pop" they need to validate their investment. It will be short-lived, unless the company can do it over and over again. The company needs to be able to do it repeatedly without too many setbacks, or at least none of the catastrophic kind, for a shareholder's mind to be put at ease.

We should be thanking Mr. T for putting forth so much effort. So much effort to build a sustainable company. One built around the most proprietary material to hit any market maybe in the history of mankind. Because he didn't deviate from his course, if shareholders continue to follow the inevitable Market Leader, they will be handsomely rewarded.

KBLB won't be making the medicine. But, from what I hear, medical companies are on KBLB's short list of Spider Silk recipients.

Time to get on the Naz!
