We were recently told by several posters that DI had told them that NWBO will PR the initiation of DL. However, the posters were not clear whether NWBO's PR extends to both soft and hard DL.

It is logical to believe that a hard DL will be PRd because the approximate time interval between a hard DL and TLD is usually known. In our case we were told that TLD will be released within about 4-5 weeks after initiation of a hard DL.

OTOH the time between initiation of a soft DL and TLD is unpredictable because the time interval between initiation of a soft lock and placement of a hard lock could vary tremendously.

It therefore would make no sense to me to PR a soft DL. When transition to a hard DL is not yet possible, initiation of a soft DL has the advantage of allowing the statisticians to do their work and that potentially shortens the time to TLD once a hard DL becomes possible.

This suggests to me that we are now waiting for a PR that a hard DL has been initiated and it is quite possible that as we speak, a soft DL has already been in place and that the statisticians are at work right now.
