Most of those that were getting admitted we leave to the Hospitalist or Critical Care team to decide. I still tend to give Zithromax to anyone who’s not sick enough for admission but symptomatic to the degree of sensations of shortness of breath. I follow the evidence as best I can but it’s summer now where I’m at on most days and the Trauma is far outpacing any COVID we’re seeing. Such is the life. The new evidence on Dexamethasone in ARDS is quite interesting, as at first we were automatically giving it at first sign of ARDS but it appeared people were dying and maybe because we were blunting their already fragile immune system. This now appears to not have been the reason.
