IMO:
Good ole' boys...(yankee thinking)...like-minded political/business brotherhood in the south performing favors for each other. (Loosley defined & not without substantial merit.)
Good ole' "boy"...(southern thinking)...description of someone that is kind, helpful, thoughtful, loves family & community, will help you when needed, will buy you a drink & take you out fishin' in their boat. Plus many other qualities...but you get my point.
Hey Bubba...watcha think about Billy Bob? Billy Bob...he's a good ole' boy...takes my younguns huntin' when I'm at work.(That might be stretching it a bit...most guys I know don't work much during huntin' season). LOL
