What I don't understand is this;

Fishermen report that they can't sell their catch because restaurants are closed

Farmers say they can't sell their vegetables because restaurants are closed.

I went to buy food supplies this morning, sometimes they sell a case of fruits and vegetables nearing the end of their shelf life for 1 euro. There were at least 10 such cases, usually there are not more than 2.

I took one, waaay heavier than usual Maybe 20 kilos (44 pounds) in the thing. All for 1 euro.

All this to ask the question, WHY is there too much food now than before? Are people just living on pasta and rice?
