Preferred Shareholders can do their own conversion any time they want to. I converted a substantial amount of my preferred portfolio end of 2018.

Forced conversion isn't going to happen. It doesn't serve any purpose. Many delude themselves and grasp for any ridiculous connection. Yes, Treasury picked Moelis, but not for capitalizing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Glen wrote a whole article based on Pagliara's misconception that preferred stock is currently not a part of the balance sheet. Read Seeking Alpha comments to just get an idea of how many investors bought into this false narrative.
