As you said, I also plan to load at the bottom. The problem is that it is not easy to time the bottom precisely. This is why my estimate of the peak arriving by mid or late April can be useful (or a better estimate from experts). I have decided to split my available cash among the next 6-8 weeks in multiple batches, so I don’t buy all stocks at once. I have done exactly that during these past 2 weeks and will continue to do so. For example, I am not buying anything today. I am sure there will be more panic, disease surprises, economic stimulus news and other factors, but this is why I think that averaging and prudent trading are especially important at present. In the meantime, I am putting extra cash I save for summer and beyond so that cash will continue to be king.
