Problem with the SEC is its revolving door protecting the hard core criminals while chewing-up the small fry for ignorant public consumption.
SEC's only credibility is not moral; its brutal force. Nobody should have disillusion about what they do to make unfair hay of distraction while the revolving door sells out every moral premise most investors ignorantly believe about most of these alphabet government agencies.
