Interesting stuff here:

So, I went to the US District Court of Nevada’s web site to see if I could get some background on Chief Judge Miranda Du. She has a very interesting background:

“Judge Du was born in Viet Nam and left with her family by boat when she was eight years old. Judge Du and her family immigrated to the United States and ultimately settled in Oakland, California. Judge Du graduated with honors in History and Economics from the University of California, Davis. She obtained her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Berkeley School of Law in May 1994.”

She also has an interesting Standing Order set like this one concerning Oral Arguments & Trials:

“Judge Du strongly encourages lead counsel to permit newer lawyers to (1) present oral arguments, particularly on issues that they worked on in the written briefs, (2) examine witnesses at trial, and (3) have an important role in the case in general. It is the way one generation will teach the next to try cases and to maintain our district’s reputation for excellence in trial practice.”

She apparently doesn’t like showboating by lead attorney’s trying to hog all the oxygen in the court. Hopefully Sipes & Elikin etal. Have excellent mentoring skills too.
