I suspect there will be shareholder lawsuits against the company, officers and directors and company representatives. I'm sure there is a lot more to this than meets the eye.
People got hurt. People lost their investment. Company representatives put our false, fake and misleading news. Not a laughing matter. This is a multi jurisdictional issue both in the US and Canada. Criminal in both countries.
