If I've learned anything over the years about the junior mining sector it's that in general it's either a feast or famine situation. When the sector is out of favor it's down and can stay down for years, but when it finally recovers and moves into a bull market investors can make spectacular gains.

In a round about way that's what this analyst was saying. Mining companies want to be able to attract investors by paying out dividends, but unfortunately it's very hard for them to be able to do it. Dividends are easily paid during the good times, but not so much in a bear market, so there's the dilemma.

IMO we saw a floor of $1049 put under the price of gold during this last bull market. I'm hoping that in the current bull market we see a floor of $3500/$4000 gold. If that happens then we should see a new outlook come for this sector. Maybe a situation that makes investors see their value all the time, not just during the bull market.
