ERO complies with the documents issued by the Ministry of Environment

The Board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has decided to extend the operating license for one year for three hydro power plants of the company “Kelkos Energy” in Gorge Deçan, respectively HPP “Bellaja”, HPP “Deçani” and HPP “ Lumbardhi 2 ”.

The reasoning of the decision of this institution, which was taken on Monday, was that they were granted a license after fulfilling the requirements to obtain a certificate of use and applying for an environmental permit.

Head of Legal and Licensing Department at ERO, Afrim Ajvazi, said that the operator has brought these two documents and that it has been ascertained by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning that these two hydropower plants meet the technical conditions for operation.

Board member Selman Hoti also said that ERO had been dealing with reviews for a long time and that all discussions were conducted.

Regarding the case of “Lumbardhi 2” hydropower, Afrim Ajvazi, Head of Legal and Licensing Department of ERO, said that the specificity of this hydropower plant is its disconnection from the network, while the operator was provided with a certificate of use and applied for environmental permit, as for the other two hydropower plants.
