I'm not totally sure that was a cheap shot. He has a lot of loyalty to Duke and his athletes. I think he is trying to look ahead and- if possible- position Duke to be in the forefront of whatever changes are coming down the pike. I'm sure he realizes that kids will always want to play for him, but I expect he would like to leave Duke- whenever that may be- in a good place.
