Looks like both Iran and the Saudis are on to the fact that they're being set up, and neither want war. They aren't taking the bait.
Not only did Iran immediately back away from blaming the Saudis for this attack, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman said last month -

So who wants to precipitate a shooting war between Iran and Saudi Arabia? The US and Israel, that's who. Bolton and Netanyahu may be out, but the Neocons are still scheming, and it's possible that the other US foreign policy wing (Trilaterals) could be in alignment with the Neocons this time.
Bottomline, it's obvious that someone is trying to engineer a direct shooting war between Iran and the Saudis, and it isn't Trump, and it isn't Saudi Arabia or Iran.
