people that control scammy publicly traded companies make money by selling shares into the market that they have received for very little payment and syphoning out cash into their pockets as part of their pay packages...

in addition to other ways, such as related parties selling assets to the public company at higher than market prices...etc etc

To know the above is the essence of successful investing in microcap stocks

Those starting a company like this and trying to create (or grow) a profitable enterprise only make money if the company as a whole succeeds. We as investors will come and go.
