The Levity Hour:
Ralph Kramden [Jackie Gleason] drives a bus for the Gotham Bus Co. Ed Norton [Art Carney] is Ralph's friend and upstairs neighbor. Ralph has been looking for a raise from his boss, Mr. Marshall.
Ralph runs into Mr. Marahll. "Hi Mr. Marshall," says Ralph. "Hello there Kramden," says Marshall. "Say Kramden, do you like golf?" "I love it," says, Ralph. "My favorite sport. I play it all the time."
"Good," says Marshall. We have a foursome on Sunday and of of the boys can't make it. I'd like you to round out the foursome."
"Humma, humma. Sure, Mr. Marshall."
Fine Kramden. We tee off at 9:00. See you on the course."
Ralph has never played golf, ever.
He goes home that day and tells his buddy Norton. "I'll get a book on golf, you'll learn in a few days."
Noton comes back the next morning with a book, "How to Play Golf," a golf ball and a wood driver.
"The first thing you have to do," says Norton, "is ADDRESS THE BALL." He puts the ball down on a carpet and grabs the driver. He stands over the ball, grips and wiggles the club half a dozen times. Ralph slaps him hard on the back and Norton stumbles forward. "Will you come on!" he hollers at Norton.
Norton grabs the driver, looks down at the ball and says, "Hello ball."
