Mineral oil and the indirect reference to grapefruit juice both do work to induce an immune response. The L vaccine as I recall does use mineral oil to induce a response and this is sometimes noted by redness at injection site. The coded message then is that Merck believes that both L and Direct work better than mineral oil (L) and orange/grapefruit juice (Direct). Many of us knew this 5 years ago and suspected it before that. Best wishes.
