At&t still uses lines that are not fiber optics. Arris makes the boxes we've used from At&t and I don't believe it's cost effective to run new fiber optics unless it's new construction. If someone has experienced something different please respond. Having had a conversation with a rep who sold the service as fiber optics but later affirmed that it wasn't available in our area.
