It's so interesting hearing up close and personal about someone who became an American icon. Thanks!

I'm so glad you feel that way about it. I often wonder if people think I'm trying to boast or brag when I relate these kinds of stories, but I do it for the exact reason you stated. It's interesting to get to know them personally and tell about it.

Having been in television all those years, plus working as Press Secretary to the Governor, I have met SO many famous people and got to know them very well. Even though I saw Colonel Sanders so many times, I always sat in awe trying to realize this was really happening to me!

I have hauled drunk TV and movie stars down hallways to hide them from the press and public, and the same with big name politicians. I have put them in cars and inside my own Winnebago so no one would get a picture of them drunk. I must have conveyed some kind of sense of trust because with so many people in a crowd, they would come to me for help.

My most favorite one was with the lady who played on "Happy Days". I won't print her name here, but you can guess. She was a doozy to party with! I hustled her out of the Hollywood Sheraton after a big party one night for ABC-TV, dragging her through the kitchen and out a back door to her car. She was lap-legged and could barely walk. I did get a nice kiss on the cheek from her. Ha.

I've got a million of 'em I could tell, but I'll spare you all and not write about 99,999,995 of them! :)
