Mateo, a pharmaceutical grade compound is a substance for which there has been a purity standard set out in a pharmacopeia, such as the USP or the BP.

When I was in the supplement business this was something I had to deal with all the time. For instance shady companies would call their omega-3 products "pharmaceutical grade". However there is no monograph in the USP (United States Pharmacopeia) for pharmaceutical grade omega-3 oils.

How much time did I spend re-educating customers who were hoodwinked by this tactic.
