It will do no good to complain to the reps or threaten to move to a new brokerage. The reps don't even know WHY online trading is stopped. (It could be from a number of reasons.)
The stoppage is clearly meant to HELP traders, not to hinder them. Etrade has a rule, that rule is violated, and it will remain like this until the problem is solved.
No different than other brokerages that won't let you buy AT ALL on delinquent stocks. That is THEIR rule, but etrade doesn't care about that.
