For example, Starboard Value has done an excellent job taking over companies with aloof management and boards, i.e. DRI and PZZA, et al.
We shall know in October the TSRI outcome which may convince you that it's a much shorter time for MKRS management. It is a little different because MKRS is a "penny stock" but then all the easier to buy shares for much less cash. So, I believe the MKRS Insiders are living on borrowed time (less than 2 years).
If the MKRS Insiders were smart they (as individuals) would be buying shares to create a majority. They must file an SEC Report and that would drive up the stock price-- and that would be okay for me to sell them some of my shares at a higher price. The Insiders could in fact gain all the shares and take the company private for their own fiefdom and personal profit.
As it stands with the Board buying back shares to keep the price at some minimum threshold above 30 cents is only forestalling the inevitable (less than 2 years). They really should be buying as individuals if only to set a better example. For now they're creating the hostility by their behavior.
