A "Llama Llama" DVD has already been released. But, it can't contain more than 5 or 6 episodes (it contains about 90 minutes of video). Meanwhile the entire season is offered for purchase digitally. iTunes, YouTube, Amazon and other digital media distributors are selling it ($1.99 to 2.99 per episode, $19.99 to 24.99 per season. Less important is the increase in the amount of merchandise available for Llama Llama products.

If Netflix has to pay each year to retain the streaming rights, I have no problem with them. It's better than having the IP sit in a portfolio underused.

Edit
Netflix cancelled the Marvel character shows. We will be able to see how long they retain the streaming rights on them and whether the shows are resold into the broadcast/cable market or other streaming platforms.
