If Mitlin had no relationship with ALYI he'd have no problem publicly denying that he did. The fact he's silent would indicate that there's something there.

Also, ALYI indicated in their PR that in October 2018 they began a project to explore and develop hemp-based technologies for energy storage and they "engaged" Mitlin to be their "project lead". This was after he had partnered with Enermat and Enermat received funding and about the same time the Forbes article was written. If Mitlin is employed by ALYI he is probably not allowed to speak to the press or publicly disclose information. That's usually reserved to the company's CEO or top management to issue PR's. There's no reason that he couldn't be working with both companies or that there's a three way relationship here.
