Good points SF,
Many people in the Staten Island area won't use HD's contractors. There's been some negative comments through the years about them. Though one of my neighbors has the blind installation business contracted from HD and has a very good rep. Personally I shop for hardware and other sundries at both HD and LOW. Lowes prices are mostly higher, but using the Lowes 5% back at point of sale credit card I find that most items cost the same. However I think Lowes has higher quality merchandise than HD, but HD has more of a selection. That's from the extensive shopping experience I've had through the years. I own a small amount of HD stock in a dividend reinvesting plan like forever and though I've looked at LOW stock through the years, I've never found value there.

About NFLX, waiting with baited breathe for earnings today. I'm in it at $330. Been a Netflix subscriber since the early days. But really don't like the new streaming selections they've been providing, seems chincy to me. Certainly many new additions to their lineup. They've been forced to diversify away from other content provider properties and to create product on their own. This cost for them is astronomical and like I said, I don't like what they're providing on streaming.

Though I get both streaming and DVDs to the house, I like the selections from their DVD service better, because the selection of movies and TV shows is second to none. I also love ordering online from and going to the local library. The NYC library system has an incredible extensive array of movies and TV shows. The shows, one complete season at a time. Where Netflix only provides one disc at a time, times the 3 I take out at any one time. And of course, being retired has it's advantages. I also enjoy every premium channel offered through Verizon ( I still prefer T though as a stock pick ) But no, and I repeat NO sports channels. Though they are offered with the package I have. (Oh well...)

Advantage: clearly the library. It's free but they do charge hefty late fees per title. After one week it's 3 dollars a day, which can really add up quickly if you've taken out 10 movies or TV shows.

Regarding LOW store closures. Have only seen one locally within the Staten Island, Central Jersey area. It's been vacant for a long time, but a new LOW popped up across the highway since.

NFLX seems to be trading in a tight range today.
