A problem the MMEX STRONG face is that facts matter, and they are continuously short on them.

The current rumor that there is some municipal investment being made between Fort Stockton, a municipality, and/or Pecos County, and MMEX is a distortion, and impossible - Texas law precludes direct investment in private businesses by local governments, inclusive of municipalities and counties.

Further, Fort Stockton is 21-miles south-southeast of MMEX’s site - it does not lie within Fort Stockton’s municipal, or extra-territorial jurisdiction, so the city of Fort Stockton, the city government, city council, etc. have no influence, or regulatory authority over the site.

Pecos County is the local regulatory authority, and the area independent school district, EMS, and hospital district are the taxing authorities. In Texas, the sole financial aid that might arise from the county would be a Chapter 313 tax abatement deal with MMEX and the school district, or the bearing of costs for county road improvement to the site.

The county, and city records are publicly available, and reflect no agenda item business, motions, or other actions between either entity and MMEX, and as of the current edition of the Fort Stockton Pioneer, there is no news, or other public record of any city action with MMEX.

Any “business,” if it were material, that transacted Monday would technically require an 8-K filing by the close of the business day tomorrow, at the absolute latest. If there were in fact any positive news, it would likely already be out. So, like all other attempted pumps, this is almost certainly another buy-on-rumor attempted pump.
