Yes, you should order early. Though I don't think Chiliplants takes orders till January second. Yes, just checked. They say they'll be accepting orders as of January first, not second.

This is an interesting one you might want to try:

http://www.chileplants.com/search.aspx?SearchName=CANTINA+YELLOW+PEPPER+PLANTS&ProductCode=CHICAY&SizeID=&SearchMode=simple&LengthID=&WidthID=&HeightID=&OrientationID=&FoliageID=&FleshID=&UseID=&Color=yellow&Location=&Keyword=&HeatID=&TypeID=&DeterminancyID=&CategoryID=1&SeasonID=&NewProduct=&Letter=&SearchButton=Pressed&pagesize=20

The pods are pretty large; almost as big as a poblano. And they're fairly hot, though you can eat 'em raw. I'd say a little hotter than a jalapeño. But more reliably hot. I've always found jalapeños, whether you grow them or buy them, may have a good deal of heat, or none at all. You can never ell in advance.

Not sure they sell seeds for the Cantina. But you can always email them asking. They're very nice about inquiries.
