When we become a born-again believer...the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Yes...the very spirit of God supernaturally comes to live within us. The Holy Spirit is our helper...He guides and directs our steps and convicts us when we are about to do wrong...sin...and if we allow Him...helps us turn from that sin. And...if we are bull headed and go ahead and commit the sin...the Holy Spirit convicts us of our wrong doing and encourages us to ask God for forgiveness. Also upon that day of salvation when we invite Jesus into our heart and life...we become part of the body of Christ...meaning...we are a member of Gods family...His children...and a disciple of Jesus. And as a disciple..we are given what is called "spiritual gifts". What that means is each of us are given certain things that we are good at as disciples of Jesus...that enables us to be the men and women that God desires us to be within that body of Christ doing different things well to minister to folks...do the work that God has set aside for us and to do it well. And with all of us having different things that we do well...we can work in harmony to get Gods work done in building His kingdom and seeing lost souls saved. You see folks...as believers we are not here on planet earth to just work to make money and to enjoy life thru entertainment and relaxation. We are not here to just wonder around and get by. God created all of us for a reason and a purpose. Being a believer is a full time job...so to speak...yes its ok to work and play and enjoy life...but when you get down to the truth...our service to and for God should be first in our life...remember....“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also...Matthew 6:19-21
